The importance of quality: why marketing alone isn’t enough
I’ve been in the marketing industry for 13 years and it took me over a decade to realise a fundamental truth: it’s impossible to market a product or service if businesses continue to create just another generic product or offer mundane services.
Quality product markets itself. If you believe you are offering good product, here are four ways to effectively persuade people to buy and increase sales without marketing.
1. Give your customers the value *you promise* — it’s crucial to deliver what you promise. By doing this, you are building trust and loyalty.
2. Be transparent about your offer — being open and honest about what you provide helps establish credibility and fosters strong customer relationships.
3. Be persistent in making your product & service better — people can see your passion. Your dedication to continuously enhance the quality of your products can results in sales and even fuels word-of-mouth recommendations
4. Manage your customer expectations — the more it meets your customer standards, the better. By clearly communicate to your customers what your product can and cannot do, you avoid disappointing them and minimise complaints.
Don’t expect sales from one experiment.
Don’t expect retention if you’re selling just another product.
Remember, marketing only works on quality products & services.
You can’t add a pretty surface on top of something that doesn’t work, and hope that it will sell.
